This Kickstarter is a followup to the Platinum best-selling Remarkable Inns & Their Drinks by LoreSmyth, a title we have yet to review. We’d love to. Just haven’t yet. At any rate, I’m happy I got to preview this campaign. LoreSmyth is a veteran Kickstarter creator at this point so I’m confident this will be a solidly run campaign. As a matter of fact, we selected Dungeon Discoveries as one of our Kickstart Your Week entrants last October. That campaign funded at over 15 times its goal.

Aside from the beautiful art, what I find remarkable—yes, I really did HAVE to—about this book is it isn’t simply a copy of ye olde stuffs that you’d find in a fantasy shop. Instead it’s ~100 pages of NPCs, items, history, and rich detail regarding how these products are sourced and even some information about clandestine operations. This is NOT simply a menu of items for your PCs to buy. This is a tool for enriching the world in which those PCs live, work, and play.

Addtionally, GMs can use Remarkable Inns to build detailed shops that involve real estate transactions, architects, and contractors. This book is a resource for those who want an immersive setting where even the barmaid matters. That’s not to say that one-dimensional characters don’t have their place TTRPGs. They do. This book is for those who want a little more. Save the flat characters for the one-shots or for inconsequential moments.

Our prediction: Given the success of the previous 7 campaigns by LoreSmyth, the usefulness of this supplement, the reasonable funding goal, and the attractive price point, I feel confident that this campaign will not only fund but that it will fund quickly. Once you see it, I think you’ll agree.

We’ll check back once this goes live and update this page with a link to the Remarkable Shops & Their Wares Kickstarter.

Edit: Here is the link to the Remarkable Inns campaign!

Journeyman. Melancholiac. Stoic. A rebel and a runner. I think chocolate and caffeine are over-celebrated and I believe hot sauce pairs nicely with ice cream.
